Anna Douglas
Counsellor & Psychotherapist
Hi I am Anna. I am a late diagnosed AuDHD Counsellor and Psychotherapist with lived and professional experience and passion for the research, awareness and support of autistic burnout.
I am trained to work with adults, children and young people and offer dyadic parent-child therapy. My practice is integrative and creative, meaning that in my ‘backpack’ I have a range of skills that I can use to help clients on their journey in therapy. To do this, I utilise talking therapy and play/creative therapies. I primarily specialise in Humanistic, developmental and relational approaches and have a special interest in Play, Sand-tray and Narrative therapy.
I am a registered member of the BACP and a member of the SEA- The Society for Existential Analysis. Before I began my therapy training journey, I studied for both a BA and MA in Philosophy which blends into my therapeutic work. I see therapy as philosophy in action.
I work with children, young people and adults and has been in practice since 2018. I trained to postgraduate level (Level 7) in Counselling and Psychotherapy, working with Children and young people (Sheffield), Play and Creative therapeutic approaches and Parent-Child Dyadic therapy (IATE, London). I am currently undertaking Postgraduate training in Clinical supervision.
Alongside my private practice, I work in LA children’s services as a therapist. I dedicate time to creative and research projects, with special interests in burn out, philosophy and therapy, existential process, and identity specifically following late ND diagnoses. I offer parent consultation, school packages including consultation, training and group therapy. I am also training to become a clinical supervisor with hopes to offer a neurodivergent therapists peer supervision group in 2026/2027.
My work is at the core, implicitly neuro-affirming and trauma informed, adaptable and collaborative with each individual client, where most of my clients and families are neurodivergent. I support clients with; exploring identity and the self, anxiety and depression, trauma, navigating burn out, workplace/education, families and relationships.
